About Me

Sarah Inendino is originally from Northern Michigan, where she graduated with high honors from Interlochen Arts Academy and studied voice. She attended Northwestern University where she earned a Bachelors of Music in Music Education with a specialization in choral education. Sarah completed her Masters of Arts degree at Columbia University in New York City. Her specializations include choral conducting and voice pedagogy.

Sarah currently serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Musical Theatre at Northwestern University where she teaches private voice lessons. She is also the Voice Coordinator for the Musical Theatre Area. Sarah also works with the Harper Festival Chorus as their assistant conductor, Schaumburg Youth Choir, and as a music director in the Chicagoland area. Previously, she was the Vocal Chair at the Chicago High School for the Arts where she also directed choir and was a vocal techniques instructor. Sarah began her career teaching 3 rd -5 th grade general music and chorus for eight years in Glenview, Illinois. Additionally, she conducted children’s choirs in Wilmette, Illinois, taught private voice lessons, and did her Orff Certification through DePaul University. Sarah left her position in Glenview to pursue a PhD in Music Education, and completed her PhD at the University of Michigan in May 2024. While at the University of Michigan, she specialized in choral conducting, spending the last two years as the assistant choral conductor for the Michigan Youth Ensembles.

Sarah is an active researcher and presenter. Currently, she serves on the Musical Theatre Education Association editorial board and Illinois Music Education Elementary General Music Council. She has presented at music education conferences at the state, national, and international level. She has won awards for her music direction, teaching, and research grants. Her current research explores the work of teaching artists in metropolitan areas. Sarah is also a member of the National Association of Teaching Singing. Furthermore, Sarah is currently pursuing her certificate in Vocology through New York University.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, bird watching, and yoga.
